Why we're doing this

To help unlock human potential, and to reduce the barriers to accessing the tools that help people live to their highest potential.

Those tools exist and they work. Too many of them sit behind a price or a waiting list. Heart's Way is an attempt to take those barriers away.

Mission

To put heart-centred, evidence-led coaching within reach of anyone who wants it — free at the point of use, and low-cost after that. We remove the barriers first and worry about scale second.

Vision

A world where knowing how to steady your own nervous system, and knowing what you're steering by, are ordinary skills rather than a privilege — taught early, held in common, and passed on.

What I draw on

Four bodies of knowledge. None of them is mine — the contribution here is putting them in one room and making them free to reach.

HeartMath

Your heart doesn't beat like a metronome. The intervals between beats stretch and contract constantly, and that variability shifts with what you feel — frustration scatters it, appreciation smooths it. HeartMath's contribution was to make that pattern trainable: paced breathing anchored in the chest, held alongside a genuine positive feeling, moves the rhythm into what they call coherence.

What earns it a place here is that it can be measured. Most of what coaching offers has to be taken on faith. This part shows up on a sensor, which means you can tell whether it's working rather than hoping.

Positive Psychology

For most of its history, psychology studied what goes wrong and counted success as the absence of it. Positive psychology asked the other question: what does it take to flourish, not merely to stop suffering?

The findings we lean on most are about purpose. Greater purpose in life tracks with substantially lower depression and anxiety across a large body of research — but purpose turns out not to be a single quantity you either have or lack. It has structure, and it can be built deliberately, which is what makes it something to work on rather than wait for.

Virtue Psychology

Ask what a good life consists of and you're asking a question the philosophers got to first. Virtue psychology brings that question back into empirical work: character strengths like courage, temperance, gratitude and justice can be identified, measured, and cultivated, and people who live in line with theirs tend to fare better than people who don't.

This is the star in our mark — a fixed point you steer by. It's what keeps the other three from becoming mere technique. Coherence and purpose are worth little if you're aimed at something that doesn't deserve you.

Spirituality & Neuroscience

These arrive together rather than separately, and that pairing is deliberate. The research increasingly points to something worth taking seriously: the capacity for spiritual connection appears to be a fundamental human endowment — something we are all built with, rather than a trait a fortunate few happen to possess.

It shows up across cultures. It has identifiable correlates in the brain. And it functions as a genuine protective factor for mental health rather than a private eccentricity. That changes what this work is: not installing something foreign in you, but helping you notice and use a capacity that is already yours.

No creed attached. You needn't believe anything in particular for this to be useful to you.

Who you'll be sitting with

Suhas Peela

Coach

Suhas is a master's student in clinical psychology at Columbia University's Spirituality Mind-Body Institute, and a mind-body specialist on the Companio project at the mhSEVA Lab. He is a certified HeartMath practitioner and a trauma-informed coach, and his research looks at heart-centred interventions, HRV biofeedback, and how the physiology of the heart shapes what the mind can do.

He came to this work through the Self-Realization Fellowship lineage, and to the science afterward. He is still mostly interested in where the two meet.
